ACCEPTABLE WEATHER CONDITIONS: (IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE AUSTRALIAN STANDARD)
WIND AND ANCHORING RESTRICTIONS
- we use from 4 to 10 x 16mm diameter metal stake 15-16 inches deep for ALL OUTDOOR hires
- 80kg to 120kg of Additional Weight is used INDOORS
- 80kg to 120kg of Additional Weight is used where forecast wind speed exceeds 20kph
- cancellation may be necessary if forecast wind speed exceeds 25kph
- no OUTDOOR hard surface hires
NOTE: An Average Wind Speed forecast of 25kph can easily result in winds from 0kph to 50kph or more. The Jumping Castle must be immediately deflated if actual wind speed is above the 25kph limit.
RAIN RESTRICTIONS
- "Isolated Showers" indicate a possible light shower (it is normal to proceed)
- "1 or 2 Showers" indicate a likely shower at some time during the day (it is normal to proceed)
- "A Few Showers" indicate at least 1 shower will occur (some people choose not to proceed)
- "Showers" indicates on and off showers throughout the day (many people choose not to proceed)
- "Rain Periods", "Areas of Rain", "Rain" indicate a poor day (most people will cancel)
- "Storms", "Possibility of Storms" - It is not safe to proceed as the weather is far too unpredictable
NOTE: Manufacturers / Importers of Jumping Castles typically state "DO NOT use, and immediately deflate the ride, if winds exceed 25KPH (15MPH) and / or it rains". Rain increases risk of power failure (even with shelter / waterproofing). Wet castles deflate more quickly reducing time available for evacuation (even with a valve to prevent backflow).
WEATHER DECISIONS
Weather Decisions are based on the Bureau of Meteorology 16:30 Melbourne Forecast the day proceeding hire. The full next day of weather is considered as a whole indicating weather predictability. Days where swings in weather lead from good to bad - or bad to good - are high risk.
